My grandparents had a really nice sleeper sofa so I grew up knowing good quality ones existed. I also know people who their sleeper sofa was their actual bed. I bought a condo and the people left behind a sleeper sofa. There are many options with how they fold now, technology is much better. I currently have a 15 yr old Tylosand, still comfy. I hope to get a chair model. It is a great piece of furniture, informative video. Do you have a video on pillow top mattresses?

I have one from Ethan Allen but I never use it. Too much work to put it together and remove all the cushions plus I have a blanket layer to protect the sofa from the dogs. When guests come I always use an air mattress - super quick. PS: my sleeper sofa is not comfortable and it was expensive.

I have a sleeper sofa, which has a back part that goes down, so the sitting part and back rest forms the “mattress.” It feels as if there’s a steel bar between the two sections, and what feels like wood to the left and right of the steel bar. (The “wood” actually is leather without cushioning). So, I’ve been sleeping on the sofabed in the sofabed position. My “mattress” is 19 inches wide. The sofabed didn’t cost much. Since I’ve moved to a larger apartment, I’m finally going to get a real bed!

I'm not finding anything quality in leather (we have pets/spills/fur/hair) for less than about $5000. Which is why I don't have one yet.

Nice try, but no amount of money is going to get you a comfortable sofa bed. If you need one, buy it but be resigned to that. If you only need to sleep one person, sleeping on the sofa itself (not pulling it out into bed form) will make for a better night.
