As a little kid I saw this guy as a role model. And i remember seeing how cool he was in this animation. Coming back reminds me when I'd be close to the tv in my grandma's house playing the first sonic game, dieing many times but I didn't care. Loved it.

This song actually had a very good message for the youth coming up at this time. There is no circumstance or obstacle that you can't handle in life, no goal you can't achieve if you just USE YOUR MIND and believe in yourself. Now that I'm older and look back... where is the older generation now to uplift our youth to that same message? Everything seems to be in reverse now!

In my youth, I had no real friends. All I had was Sonic mega collection, Sonic flash movies, and my game cube. Sonic was for a large period of time, my only friend.

Fun fact: The animation from this opening cutscene inspired the animation for the Japanese Sonic OVA.

Funny thing is that it wasn't until about a month or two ago that I finally heard this full version of the song with the second half. I'd only ever heard versions that looped the first part, or the shortened version of the song that is used in the opening. Needless to say, that walk was an incredbly surreal one, realizing I'd never heard the back half of a song I'd listened to for years.

This Sonic and this metal Sonic are very different from the current ones, I know Sonic has his rebellious personality, but I always wanted to see a Sonic like this, sarcastic/charismatic and serious.
