Sonic Boom. That, especially the opening version, is how you blow the mind of an 8 year old who only knew vgm as chiptunes. I don't care what anyone else says. Sonic CD is the best sonic game by far

I love how each half a distinct feel. The first half gets you pumped for the epic adventure ahead, while the second half is a lot more melancholic because the adventure’s over and Sonic can finally rest.

Wow the ending with just the acoustic guitar I never heard until now. That's cool.

Playing this game as a teenager, you really don't appreciate what a great soundtrack this was. Just the guitar licks, the rhythm, the lyrics, and the vocals. And how the lead guitarist held the last note with the whammy bar, GENIUS. And I also love the little solo at the end.

This is bringing back memories to me playing on the Sega Genesis and loving the heck out of this intro, and to this day, no old video game holds a candle to that masterpiece of an animated intro.
