MadVR Envy Extreme - Best Video Processor Ever

Checking the best video processor ever, madVR Envy Extreme. Like a fine wine, it’s nicely paired with virtually all projectors from Sony, JVC, Digital Projection, Barco and Christie even Epson and Vivitek. Your AppleTV and Nvidia Shield can’t do this.

Thanks for your very quick response about the black levels on a Sony 6000. I know it won’t come close to the JVC’s blacks but as long as it’s acceptable and it has a great picture that is fine with me. Is the contrast of the Sony XW 6000 acceptable as well? As long as it will put out a great picture I am happy even if it’s not to the level of JVC. What are your thoughts?

Hi David,
I enjoyed your video on the madVR. I had a DP HIGHlite Laser 4K + Lumagen Radiance Pro 4242 until my integrator dropped the projector and it was written off. Currently looking at DP MLS HIGHlite RGB Laser and Sony VPL-GTZ380 as replacement. Is my Lumagen up to the job or should I get a madVR? I noticed the madVR in NLR mode crops the top and bottom of the image. I also need a great calibrator. How do I provide you with my contact information?

Good morning David. I have a question. I have a Sony XW 6000 Projector. I also have a Mad VR Envy Extreme to go with it. I know you have the time to review a Sony XW 7000 and I think the 6000 is pretty much the same. My question is: Does the Sony XW 6000 projector with the Envy Extreme have a great picture? I know that the black levels and contrast are not as good as JVC’s, but I guess I’m asking, does the Sony 6000 with Envy have good contrast and black levels even if JVCs contrast and black levels are better. I can’t exchange my Sony because I am past that point, so I just want a great picture with my Sony. Thanks in advance!

What code / tech does this share with the Windows software of MadVR?

FFDShow filters?

I saw a demo on YouTube with a mad vr envy on the nz8 and it changed the image in a un-natural way compared to the nz8’s frame by frame tone mapping. Besides the faster black bar detection compared to lumagen I would be happier going with lumagen and putting leftover money saved into a better projector or a dcr lens

Seriously…….why so ludicrously expensive?

How would you compare the Lumagen against the MadVR?

How about HDR Tone Mapping? Do you find a big difference b/w JVC vs MadVR tone mapping?

Hey i m just a nerd here
My question is,
I saw that there is MadVr software that is free (in this video comment section). So can a 8000$ pc with everything best of best installed can do the same job as this 17k madVr branded machine ??
Or are there any demerits or is it even a viable option (in place of that 17k machine) for those who truely want best of the best quality ?

Diminishing returns on investment? AppleTV 4K (HDR10+) is pretty darn good on my JVC RS2100. Does the madVR make the picture $17k better? Perhaps its really meant for the 1% and not the everyday Joe.

Hey David, I know you are a JVC guy, and I know they are the best with HDR and dynamic tone mapping. I have a Sony. XW 6000 projector. I just bought a Mad VR Envy Extreme to go with it. I know the JVC laser projectors Don’t need the dynamic tone mapping feature on the the envy extreme, but the envy extreme should make my picture on my Sony 6000 a lot better right?

I originally planned on purchasing a jvc but I purchased a Sony 295es for 2k. It only had 400 hours and I couldn’t past it up.

I have looked into mad Vr some as it would be very cool to have auto adjust for scope and 16:9. The retail option is more that I want to pay but I’m still researching the diy options.

But the JVC with firmware 2.0 is getting closer for “free”

I would be soooo mad spending $17k and my equipment came in a beatup box, $3 remote control in ziploc bags running on 10 year old PC hardware! The freaking users manual was photo copied! The PC case looks like it cost no more than $50! I dont care if the picture quality is good. The presentation/unboxing alone is Pure garbage!
