The difference in tone from the original has the sort of self reflection you'd expect from someone in both grief and revenge at the realisation that things won't get better no matter what, it sounds more desperate than the more direct feeling the original gives off

This one sounds like a mournful dirge, the ghost of a memory once sweet turned sour or even tragic, unable to move on, only to reminisce about the happier times and what could have been, until it feels like torture worthy of the Inquisiton.
