Scotty is a self driven supercharger auto mechanic. Others can't even come close. Thanks Scotty.

The supercharged car is Buick regal GS. I have one. If you start going nuts that super supercharger will drain the gas tank dry . But if you just cruise the highway you'll see close to 30mpg. Buick 3800 series 2 is a great engine. Hasn't had a decent low maintenance v6 since they did away with it.

Actually, turbochargers do use extra energy, but not as much as a supercharger. The back-pressure caused by the usage of the exhaust gases consumes energy just like any other restriction of the exhaust stream, viz. the First and Second laws of Thermodynamics. Hence, you never get out more energy than you put in and you always get out less than what you put in.

I think people with super changed cars care more about performance than gas mileage.

Exhaust back pressure does take energy from piston reciprocation isn’t not exactly free

Supercharged Buick Regal. Love the 3.8 with one. I always wanted to put a supercharger in a 3.8 Firebird to see how it would keep up with an 8 without the insurance hike.

Yeah but superchargers sound better than naturally aspirated or turbos and that’s more important than reliability or fuel economy in a weekend car

I have a tuned GM 3800 superchargerd pontiac grand prix. My car gets 22mpg on the internet at 80. 28mpg at 70. I get 32mpg at 55.

All the EPA cares about is fuel milage 😢

The 3800 na or supercharged will out live any turbo car

Also whether supercharged or turbo charger, the factories don't build the engines with enough HD parts to take the pressures of these performance devices.

I have seen factory supercharge powered 6 cylinder engines get 13 mpg, normal driving.
While the same model vehicle without the supercharger, will get over 20 mpg, normal driving.

I will take a supercharger over a turbo ANY day, that low-end torque is so fun, and if you take advantage of that, you can get pretty good MPG
my supercharged 1.6 gets 45 mpg

Twin diesels on my boat have both turbos and superchargers. The supercharger pops the boat out of the water and the turbos take it from there. Our 2017 Audi Q7 has a supercharger even though it says 3.0T. Super smooth.

That’s not why lol turbo cars actually cost more to produce you need a whole system to make them work while a supercharger just needs a belt n a pulley lol

If a supercharger has screw gears instead of helix, they come close to turbos with efficiency.

Id take a supercharger any day over a turbo
