Hot take, but even though I love both songs. I think I like Halsey's version better. I like the more personal, detailed songwriting describing her struggles, and how they've kept her from being happy despite being 'lucky.' I do think Britney's Lucky sounds better production-wise though.

I like how you can sense innocence in britney's voice as if it was about a girl being clueless about her own emotions and feeling lonely in the middle of the crowd but being told in 3rd person POV.

Then there's halsey telling in 1st person POV as if she's the girl britney talked about and being like "if lonely is a person, I am", kept in check with her own loneliness and kept them hidden behind the smile.

Halsey, just like the name of her album, is the great impersonator, and everyone should beware of her
