This is much easier than I thought! Mercedes Benz Smart Key Battery tutorial.

In this video I will teach you how to quickly change the dead battery in your Mercedes Benz ML350 Key Fob. This process can be complicated if you have never done it but I figured out a quick way to make it happen. You'll be using your Mercedes Benz ML350 again in about 2 minutes!

EVEN EASIER WAY TO GET THE LID OFF IS INSERTING THE KEY ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE KEY SLOT AND THE LID POPS RIGHT OFF, NO NEED TO PRY ANYTHING OR RISK DAMAGING OR SCRATCHING THE OUTSIDE OF THE FOB. JUST FYI.

Perfect explanation.  2 minutes to change the battery on my 2010 GLK 350 fob.  More common CR2032 battery also fits.

Nice! I checked a couple of websites, but your explanation was the best. So easy to do once you know about the tab. You just put the key back into its slot slightly offset from where it came out so that your metal key catches the tab. Bingo
