I didn't play consoles on TV for a while as this was my introduction to Sega Mega Drive.

In Japan Sega released the Teradrive which was a ibm and mega drive combination like what amstrad did in the UK. Hope these lads get it one day .

Just found this channel, I visited the museum last year and I was like a kid in a sweet shop. Great videos, keep them coming and hopefully I can make the journey again sometime soon from Liverpool. :D

My very first PC was one of these, it was so good! I'd love to get another one.

my friend had one of those, he was doing a computer coding course at collage and he said that it was the cheapest pc that the shop had - it was loaded with one of the windows 3x versions and was pretty hard for a non computer geek to use, the sega mega drive was the thing that I was interested in, we used to go to the local video hire shop and hire a few sega games cartridges over the weekends and have a blast

Ah the memories. I had one as a child after a string of CPC 6128's and 1512's, the upgraded 486 model running Win 3.1 no less! Some of my fondest memories were tinkering with it and when it was not apart, playing the original Wing Commander game. Great times.

I had one of these as a child but I swear mine was a 386 DX. It does have a port for the Mega CD too - under the cartridge slot behind the white plastic that says 'Sega Mega Drive Compatible'. This little piece of plastic comes away to reveal the expansion slot.

I saw this in magazine as a kid. It was the most mysterious thing. At some point I even started doubting my memory.

This would've made a lot more sense if they'd paired the Mega Drive with an Amiga or Macintosh, since they both used the same 68000 CPU that Sega used. Might have let them share more components than just the sound.

"They released a 486 one, they are even more rare" yes i know how rare they are, infact my neighbour has one, he's not really into vintage computing though so im really waiting for the day he decides to do a cleanup on his shed and his "486 Mega PC" comes out to the kerbside lol

Had one of these at my local department store. I took carts in just to see how awesome games looked on the CRT display.

Would love to find the 486 variant on eBay but very rare.

Thanks for the coverage of this thing.
I have always been curious how it actually functions.
Also, other than Sonic1 being awesome *THUMBS UP* for playing Champ Kong! :D
