Tessie, it's absolutely wonderful that you're still able to get a harvest, even in these cold, winter months. Those rolls look delicious! I love learning more about the way of life and skills of the 1930s and 1940s and do a lot of reading/researching about the time periods. It makes me think of my great-grandmother and all she did. Similar to what you said, I enjoy not only learning but also implementing these skills and methods of cooking, baking, and homemaking. It makes me feel connected to that generation of my family and brings me a sense of calm, accomplishment, and peace. Have a blessed evening. ❤

Girl, your wood burning stove looks just like mine. Four years ago we lost power for 5 days during the worst snow and freeze in South and East Texas. We had never seen anything like it. We did not have backup heat and we learned a lesson. We immediately bought a wood burner. We live in a forest so we have plenty of wood. Thank the Lord for that. I never want to be that cold again. 😵

Loved your video! I have my mom’s cookbooks and there are recipes that were her’s, and some that were her mother’s. Some of those old recipes may go back to my great grandmother. Those old recipes are a real treasure. This past Thanksgiving I made my grandmother’s chicken dressing, almost completely from scratch. I had watched mom and my grandmother make it and for the first time in my life I did it. I am sure they both were watching over me. End result, AWESOME!!!!

The rolls look delicious. I could save a lot of money if I went back to making all of my own bread, roll and buns again because my guy's go through a lot of bread every week.

Tessie, I still had a few roses blooming back in December of coarse soon as it got so cold roses were no more rolls look great look forward to the radio videos very cold and windy here I have cats that come around as I feed them each morning I worry about them too in this cold weather :-) Love you my Sister :-) God Bless You and Ken :-)
