Thanks for a great review! I was actually looking for an estimate on number of 4x6 photos per refill but I will leave my guesstimate here.
My setup uses:
Epson ET-2720 ... about $333 retail in 2022.
4 of 65ml bottles of Epson ink ... after market replacement $20!
iOS printer app/driver ... for direct printing from iphone.
Note: Currently Epson has no driver support for Apple M1 MacAir/Book/mini.

Guesstimate: 20 4x6 prints (glossy epson paper) used about 10% of ink. I determined 10% usage by refilling with left over ink ... whick was about 6% vol of bottle. Each bottle had about 1/4 to 3/8 in after initial fill. Bottle is about 4 in tall at ink line. 1/4 out of 4 in is about 1/16 or 6%. So lets say 5% was used being 1/20 for every 20 photos ... that would be about 400 photos! I would estimate around 5x as many rich documents here though.... or 2000 pages. At $20/aftermarket refill that would be 5 cents per photo or 1 cent per page for ink. If I get 3000 pages out of this printer the printer cost is about $333/3000 or 11cents +1 cent ink or 12 cents per page. 3000 photos would be about 11 cents plus 5 cents for ink + 7 cents glossy 4x6 (lesser quality glossy photo paper) or 23 cents per 4x6 photo.

I never believe "thousands of pages" unless you are printing docs with a 5 lb toner cartridge! My last printer was a laser printer ( MC362 Okidata $1000 retail + $200/toner set). It would print about 200-300 8.5 x 11 photos (maybe 2500 normal pages)... costing about 1$/sheet (or 25cents per 4x6 if you cut it out of a sheet!) Typical printer/drum life cost is about 30, 000 pages... maybe 3 cents/sheet.

Summary: Epson printer ink about 5 cents per photo.
Epson glossy photo 4x6 7cents ( $7 Epson premium glossy 4x6 x100pack on amazon)
Printer cost assuming 3000 of 4x6 photos printed over lifetime is about same a ink and paper ...11 cents.
Total 4x6 cost at about 23 cents/photo .... +/- 50% guesstimate!

Conclusion: This printer is very economical and it prints directly from an iphone! Even at 3x mag I see no print lines! This is about 1/8 (12lbs vs 80 lb) weight of an office style color laser printer and uses less than 1/15 of the power (40W vs 600W)! It also costs about 75% less upfront ($333 vs $1200). On the cons ... 5ppm vs 35ppm, no sheet feeder/duplex, no double side automatic, no 200 sheet tray or multiple trays (25sheet top load). I would say this is an amazing product that scales down economically if you do not need the pro-features or 25+ pages per day average. Typically a $1000+ laser printer will do over 50, 000+ pages and an inkjet more like 5, 000 pages. Getting rid of those old expensive inkjet cartridges makes this printer 2x to 5x less cost for ink .... meaning a payback of about 6-12 months for upfront printer costs ($200 more than the $100 unit w/cartridge subscription plan).

Hi, thanks for good and informative video about this printer and how you have work with it. I’m looking ICC profiles to this printer and for some photo papers. Have you find any somewhere? I’m still very happy with it and I’m getting very good results. I also calibrate screen and use Lightroom soft proofing and try to make small adjustments to get most of prints. Maybe it is best to stick with Epson premium glossy paper if there is no ICC profiles available?

Thanks for the review. I have one issue I can not allign the picture in the middle of the fotopaper (13x18). The program setup is made as shown in your video and the paper is corretly inserted. Do you have any advice?

Hi, great review! Because of your review I bought the ET 2650. I must be missing something as I am only having frustrations with the printer. Do you have that it shuts it’s self off when not used. Great to save energy. Only very unhandy if you want to print something from another room. I was looking to see if I could change the time or settings for this but need help as I cannot find it. And you said when you instal the printer you get color spaces. I haven’t found this either. Wat is color spaces and how did you get it? Also would like to douplex print with it but maybe my computer is too old or something as I have no (manaul) settings for douplex printing for this printer. Can you help me.

Hi ! I have a problem with my ET 2650...for printing A4 normal paper, photo paper its ok, and today i tryed on A6 photo paper (4"x6" size) and always its just trowing the paper out or jaming it inside. Any ideas why ?

I put 4x6 photo paper but the photo in my photo album will not print to that photo paper
I can't make the printer print a photo on smaller than 81/2 x 11 paper
Very frustrating.

Have you tried the 4750 or 7000 series? I just wonder if I want to use these pictures to hang on the wall, if I should go for the bigger models which I can read have twice the number of nozzles which I presume helps print quality?

The price for this one NOW in my country can’t be beat. Much less. Two questions. What paper should I buy? For photos as well as for «decor paper» for scrapbook layouts. With or without the photos added in. And when you talked about scanning your slide, I’m sure you didn’t use this printer for the scanning, right?
