You were funny but got the job done. I appreciate your video as I am going through the same thing looking for a replacement cable for my home gym. I didn't have the crimps so I just tied like 3 or knots. It worked. Lol. I may go your route in purchase the crimps.

You crimped those wrong. One side of the ferule goes into one side of the crimper and the other into the other, so that when you squeeze the crimpers it's pushing the cables towards each other, and turning the 8 shape into an o shape. Or turned 90° from where you had them. I'm sure you could have Googled that and saved yourself some hassle.

Cool video man, I have a machine that has really old worn-out pulleys and cables that are about to break and need to be replaced soon so I'm going to have to be doing something like what you're doing pretty soon but thanks for making the video.

I just set my cables up on my brand new machine but it feels just a bit loose, any idea on how to tighten the cable ?

Can these cables stil snap? I mean I now they can but during exercise? In my gym they have som cables on a cable machine, Technogym I think, that snap every now and then. Last time it happend to me during kneeling cable crunches and I ended up with a broken nose. Is this something common with gym cables?

Please don't do what you've seen in this video, you will hurt yourself or someone else. Non of the crimps are done correctly and WILL fail, probably splitting your head open with a lat pulldown bar. Not trying to disrespect you man! It's that this is wrong and dangerous!!! 👊

I think you did an excellent job. It was helpful. Don’t know what your total cost was but I’m about to try it if I can’t just order the replacement cable.
