That WONDERFUL theme! David Raksin wrote it OVER A WEEKEND, after he persuaded Otto Preminger that Preminger's original idea -- to have the movie's theme be Duke Ellington's "Sophisticated Lady" -- didn't do this enchanting movie justice. (Johnny Mercer didn't add the lyrics until sometime later). One of the best-spent weekends EVER.
