Years ago a friend of mine was in an abusive relationship with an ex-cop. She was slapped, punched, kicked, strangled, thrown, threatened - everything. She wanted to leave but was too afraid. One day we (group of a few close girl friends) devised a plan for her to gradually move her things out of the apartment so it wouldn't be noticeable to him. So she would put a few personal things in her car every day going to work and one of us would take them. She also secretly got a second cell phone. After about six weeks, she felt that she had moved enough essentials out so she disconnected the first phone, deleted all her social media accounts and didn't return to him. Luckily he didn't know where she worked because she had just started a new job without him knowing. She moved into a new place in a different county. It was a difficult process at first but became a smooth ending and sweet beginning for her. She subsequently met a successful businessman and has been married to him for almost 10 years now.

Just thinking of the line "My god, what did he do to you?" brings me to tears. It was so obvious to him that she didn't have to say it. I stumbled upon this movie on cable as a teenager. It was at the part where she had just escaped. After seeing how her husband was in the last half, I've never been able to bring myself to watch the beginning.

Dude, is this the movie where the abusive husband was super obsessive about can labels facing forward? The pantry scene freaked me the hell out when I was a kid and I still think about that scene sometimes.

One of my friends is still in an abusive relationship with her husband who won't let her leave him, won't take no for an answer, she doesn't have the energy or guts to come out of his clutches bcz of her kids, . My heart goes out to her, God should help her

this movie dose not stream on any streaming apps or sites i looked on. But it in early 2025 still can be bouht on blu ray or dvd new copies and for less than $10... most sites that sell dvds likely have it for what i saw that is $7-$8....
i do not remember seeing this movie which means most likely i never did. It looks like an interesting action thriller type that I'd like to see. I will be buing a new copy dvd of it soon.

These aren’t characters but caricatures. Most domestic violence doesn’t take place in gorgeous beach houses, to piped-in Bartok. It’s ugly—not semi-romantic, like this.
