Presbia Lens Implants - Vision Correction - Assil Eye Institute Los Angeles

Dr. Kerry Assil: In the field of vision correction surgery, again we've been involved at the forefront of most of the new categories of technology. Most recently we're participating with a company called Presbia where we implant a little contact lens, it's about one hundredth of the size of a typical contact lens, and it goes underneath that skin layer of the eye within the cornea and enables people to have multifocal vision in that eye.

They can now, people who haven't been able to read can now read. They can also see far away quite nicely and those studies are early on in the United States but I've been implanting these lenses outside the United States ten years now.
