This is a great overview if you're not familiar with Discourse. I've used this platform in a few communities I was involved with in the past and agree with the review.

Thank you for this! It's amazing (and frustrating!!) that in 2024 some of the other options don't even have accurate analytics!!!

I urgently need a brief consultation tip on whether Discourse is suitable for me or not. My task is to create a forum as part of a university project, which is supposed to be for a student-help-student NGO learning app (mobile app only). I have the mandatory requirement to use React Native and to dockerize the entire application. My plan is to build a frontend with React Native and the backend with the Discourse API. I am already familiar with the Discourse Administrator feature, but it is not allowed in my university project since I have to build the frontend with React Native.
I have to use Docker and have also obtained the Discourse base image, which already includes a Postgres database. However, the problem is that the Apple M1 chips prevent the image from working (despite selecting arm-64).
I urgently need help because I am very desperate and really want to use Discourse.
Can any expert please help me here?

Great video! Do you know if there are any add-ons to upvote comment like Reddit? I’d like to create an engineering forum and would like to be able to have a mechanism to quantify the “quality” or “accuracy” of replies.

Great video - I'm curious if you have seen good examples of a discourse community as a part of a mobile app?

The reason its not: After 10 years they still are not able to comply with any containerisation best-practices.
