Hi Nathan! I've been an English teacher for 33 years now and I've always taught English with songs. I'm a great fan of Ed Sheeran and I used this same song last year and 'Kiss me' (full of phrasal verbs) and I always connect grammar with any song in 'Los 40'; that said, I find your video extremely interesting and I'm sharing it with my students in Coria del Río. I have been learning and living daily with English for about 20 years now. # years ago, when I came across some orchestral and choir Evangelical Christian hymns and acapella, I entered a completely new level of music and English. My level was about B2 CFER or above then, so remembering the lyrics and singing along took me just 3 days for each song. I would love to make lessons out of songs like " Be thou my vision", "In Christ alone", "Behold our GOD", "10000 reasons", "Amazing Grace", or those of Hillsong Worship like " What a beautiful name", "Who you say I am", "Broken Vessels", "This I believe", "I surrender", etc. I actually used these songs by Hillsong to aid my French learning during college, along with Bible/ Scripture translations English and French which I know enough in my mother tongue. French ( A1 to B1 CFER)was and is still compulsory for all students in that university. The refinement and beauty of the languages in these materials are unparalleled by others that I have tried before following Jesus.

I cried when you told about your Spanish speaking student. I learn English and Spanish (native Russian) and I've only recently adjusted to the rule about "pensar en". It's so amusing when you understand sth!

*think about sth = pensar en = which is think in sth literally :)
