When my older son was about 5 years old, we took him to see Jurassic Park. No problem. He was not scared, he had no nightmares, everything cool. Wasn't too much later we took him to see Twister. THAT scared him. The difference: dinosaurs have been extinct for millions of years and there is no such place as Jurassic Park. Tornadoes, on the other hand, are real.

I was staying in a hotel in tornado area and I asked the desk attendant what the plan was in the event of a tornado. I used to live in Illinois so I was familiar with tornadoes. The attendant had no clue.

A movie about a disaster looks like a disaster. Yikes, looks like someone called in alot of favors to get this one in the can.

If they could have just cut immediately to the storm and edited out the intensely-annoying stereotyped characterizations, this would have been an alright flick. As it was, it made me dislike Hollywood and its ideas and perceptions of Middle America even more ... and that, for me, is saying something.
