It looks like a Tony hawk game. Ramps and rails everywhere. No real spots or actual skating. Skate 2 was the pinnacle of the series.

They did say they were working on physics first then graphics later. I am still super excited

Early access is most likely just for server stress testing and to get some player feedback (as well as as some cha ching)

It still looks really rough and looks like they have leaned more in the arcade direction. I can see a $5 dollar early access just to get more people involved at this stage plus server stress testing. I am willing to give it a shot but my hopes aren't too terribly high on this being that great.

They might be doing early access for this because of how friggen long it’s been since the last instalment and the positive feedback from play testers on the unfinished product. (I got to play test. Can confirm it’s just as fun as slate 3, can’t provide proof without breaking NDA)

It's obvious they're not going for realism, but I think people are mistaken when they assume early access means we get to have influence on how the art style and direction will go. Very rarely any of that will change dramatically when the game is already 'this far' into development. What we see _might_ be placeholders, but in truth we really don't know for sure. I once made the mistake of backing an early access game for $90, thinking they would surely update the graphics to something good. It never happened, they barely added more content and just took the money. The reason why something like SKATE goes early access has to do with finetuning the gameplay itself. It's about playtesting. And yes, 'free to play' is still a garbage decision, probably. But we'll see.

I've played in 4 different builds. Even the latest one is no were even close to being a releasable thing. Controls are good though.

The real issue i have..the last game, done a great job at having so many Skate Icons and im gonna miss that, it was an amazing time to experience that game and have some interactions with those characters. No matter what im gonna enjoy this game so much.

I am so burned out of Skate 4 footage, They Took Any excitement for this game with the monthly trailer. Can’t believe they needed 4 years for early access.
