i always thought this song was about someone who's struggling with chronic depression and wants to end his/her life, but is afraid to do so. i mainly get this from the chorus "have some composure, where is your posture? oh, no, no. you're pulling the trigger, pulling the trigger, all wrong."

The first time I heard this song and heard the lyrics
"When I say shotgun you say wedding"
I instantly said SHOTGUNWEDDING! Like as a joke
And then the recast of the lyrics were shot gun wedding, shot gun wedding
I honestly got super happy cause I guessed the lyrics

It makes me sad that you don't hear Ryan in this, his voice is so beautiful. You can only hear small snippets and he deserves so much more than that
