Panic! At The Disco's music video for 'This Is Gospel' from the new album, Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die! - out now on DCD2 Records / Fueled By Ramen.

Directed by Daniel Cloud Campos

LYRICS
This is gospel for the fallen ones
Locked away in permanent slumber
Assembling their philosophies
From pieces of broken memories
(This is the beat of my heart)
Their gnashing teeth and criminal tongues
Conspire against the odds
But they haven't seen the best of us yet

If you love me, let me go
These words are knives and often leave scars
The fear of falling apart
Truth be told, I never was yours
The fear of falling apart

This is gospel for the vagabonds
Ne'er-do-wells and insufferable bastards
Confessing their apostasies
Led away by imperfect impostors
(This is the beat of my heart)
Don't try to sleep through the end of the world
And bury me alive
'Cause I won't give up without a fight

I've never heard the word "bastards" sang in a song so peacefully

Just lost my grandmother a few days ago. She missed the hell out of my grandfather who passed a year ago. This song brings so much peace to me knowing she’s not suffering anymore and reunited with him.

“If you love me, let me go”.

We will Nana Ellie. ❤

I listened to this song a lot when I was going through cancer. The part where he is being manhandled by the physicians and the ropes wrapping around him really sang to me. It was a point in my life where I literally was in fear of falling apart, barely hanging on. 9 years later I can listen to this song without sobbing as a cancer survivor. I’m so grateful for P!AD for expressing the things I couldn’t with this song 🙏🏻

Even through surgery and dying, his hair is perfect.

I love how after all that moving and struggling from the doctors, Brendon Urie's hair stays in tact beautifully

As yearly tradition, I come back to my home grounds and binge PATD songs. This has a special place in my life - a song that holds lots of sadness but also happiness. I don't listen to much of their songs anymore and I am aware that I will never get to see them on stage because of brendon's retirement, but the feelings that are contained in these songs - songs that got my youngerself through life - will forever remind me of what I overcame.

to my younger self,
don't worry, you're doing alright
