Take it for what it is, an experience in noir. I enjoyed seeing a young Lucille Ball in a drama. Thank you! ❤😊

People never connect Lucille Ball with the Star Trek sagas. She was the head of the film studio which took on the very first Star Trek pilot when no one else wanted it. Against strong opposition, she authorized the Star Trek television series. It ran for three years and gained enough following for additional Star Trek series to be produced. From there, motion pictures, and Star Wars. Without her, none of the Star Trek or Star Wars films would have been made.

Movie theme in beginning has strains of George Gershwin in it, nice for a musician like me. Lucille Ball really carries her character very well in this movie. I kept wanting William Bendix to say "What a revoltin' development."

@23:50 Pianist appears to be suavely playing this boss blues riff for real. Rolling up ascending arpeggios with his left hand culminating in octave stabs with his right. Cool stuff! Overall a really fun, entertaining film with the great, Lucille Ball.

Great 40's big band background music, including "Do you love me"...Clifton Webb is a great villain.

So good, would've made a better series than The Thin Man to see these two muscle their way through a series of murders

Another strong independent thinking woman role for Miss Ball. High for the 40 s. Set her standard.

That theme sounds so familiar. I wonder if it ended up being a popular record. Either I heard it in other old movies or in those classic 1940s/1950s cartoons.

Eddie Heywood Band does a great version of "Coquette" in the night club scene with Mark and Lucy.

My whole energy came crashing down when the story-line in this movie got worse, what did it is when Brad confessed to Lucy "that his prior life had been a criminal and so he decided to be a private dick." Other, than Lucy having a flawless body & beautiful legs a woman does notice another woman's fatigue." I wanted the nearest exit because it was getting poonparara....Sheila W. v. Saul, 395 F.
