Brown University’s School of Public Health is devoted to preventing disease and promoting health. Students learn public health by doing public health. Public Health at Brown is intricately embedded in the culture and the mission of Brown University in developing people of reputation and usefulness.

Similar to the University’s open curriculum, students in our five masters and four doctoral programs, work closely with faculty mentors to design individualized, cross-disciplinary experiences. Brown students are architects of their own education and original research, public health graduates become outstanding leaders and innovators in their chosen fields.

Students learn by doing – students do internships in settings related to issues which they are passionate about in one of our 11 internationally recognized research centers or local hospitals or state agencies.

At the Brown School of Public Health we are committed to service, translating findings into policies, and programs that have real impact on people’s lives – locally, and across the country and globe.

We learn public health by doing public health.
