I admire the slight imperfections in your projects, the slight dinks, cracks and scratches make it feel like a console thats been around for a while, and makes it feel like its been used by a kid who loved them.

Holy crap. Back in highschool I was a huge hardware nerd and was obsessed with converting consoles into portables. I remember watching YouTube videos from iambacman on portable N64's and I actually started making my own as a project. This was around when 3D printing first came about and my highschool had just installed a 3D printer so I found an N64 secondhand with games and accessories for $20 and gutted it, took measurements and drew up diagrams of the PCB and then designed a case in inventor, as well as gutted one of the aftermarket controllers with the console and took measurements of that as well. I had a budget of about $25 though so I was working with the bare minimum. I already had lots of hardware on hand between chips available at school and ones my dad had. I ended up making my own voltage regulator and designed the entire case to contain all the components and almost finished the project but school ended up getting in the way and it has sat in my closet just inches from being finished for the last 10-12 years. I really wish I finished that project when I knew what I was doing.
