Easy Apple Fruit Leather

Here's us making some easy apple fruit leather/roll ups for my children to eat on our road trip (which we just came back from - this is a late upload). :)

Mmm.. always loved fruit roll-ups. Never heard them called leather before. I like how Elizabeth is watching so intensively and following the spoon. She is gonna grow up to become a great cook just like her mommy.

Got apple banana fruit roll ups in the oven now. Never made them before, so hopefully they turn out and my picky kids like them ! Thanks for the idea and recipe :)

I cooked 4 cut up apples (cut into cubes) in a saucepan with half a cup of water, a pinch of nutmeg, a Tbsp and a half of sugar, and a little shake of cinnamon, and then I mashed them with a potato masher and the blended them. They are still in the oven, and are turning out great. Thanks for the vid!!

Rachel, learning a lot from you but you should watch out that you don't use a utensil in a blender that is on! especially as you are teaching the children!

Experiment! It's fun. :) I tried several fruit combos and they all worked so far.

If you can go the evening before that is when I have found that they take out the garbage, store returns, etc. A local store pretty much leaves the dumpster almost empty until a couple of days beforehand, probably because they know I am dumpster diving in it.

Yeah, if someone does that they have to be very careful and sure they're not going to touch the blade in the bottom. I was being careful. :)
