DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Firmware brings EPIC NEW feature

I never shoot clips that are not perfect so the "cancel recording" feature is of no use to me. OK, I'm kidding, it is a neat new feature (copied from Insta360 I think?). But the fix that I had been begging them to implement is the one that I'm most pleased about, and it's a shame it's not getting much of a mention in videos about this FW update. This concerns the way in which the wave file containing the audio from the internal mics used to collapse to mono when the DJI Mic 2 was directly connected. Now it's in glorious stereo, if that was set before connecting the Mic 2. Why does that matter? Well, of course many vloggers just use the wireless mic on its own, which does give clarity to the voice, but it also reduces the relative level of the ambient audio in the scene. Think birds singing in charming woodland. When the "backup audio" feature was originally introduced, this enabled the internal mics to be separately recorded to a wave format file, so you could mix that with the wireless mic audio to your taste when editing. But shock horror, it was mono audio from that excellent set of 3 internal mics! Now you get the full stereo ambience against which to set your commentary on the wireless mic, which is far more satisfactory and gives rise to high quality creative possibilities. The Pocket 3 is really a four channel audio recorder which happens to also capture video - unique!

This seems like a very dangerous feature, if you record a clip that you need, then press the record button again for 3 seconds, it currently switches off but saves your clip. If you were to record a wedding clip and either think you had stopped the clip and then tried to switch off the camera, or deliberately just switched off the camera, you wouldn't lose the clip. But now you could film a 20 minute clip and accidently delete it by doing those actions!! SD space is easy, I'd rather have a clip I don't need than lose a vital clip just because i held the button too long.

Feature? I lost two 15 minute clips because I forgot to hit stop before trying to turn the camera off only to learn that I just deleted 2 x 15 minutes of recording

One quick question Vic.

Do I have to have WiFi off to transfer my files to my phone? I see the files on my OSMO Pocket 3 but on transfer I can’t playback.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone have issues with the app not showing the videos? I had to connect the pocket to my laptop to download the videos and watch them. On the app it had the videos but when i would push play nothing would show up

come on, there would be much more important and EPIC features than this simple long-press, which we are waiting for! But ALL DJI-youtubers are saying this, so there might be a reason to say this... $$$$
