Great summary, but you kind of whizzed past the key upgrade to the audio backup files. When they added this feature, either through a bug or a unfortunate design decision, they made it so that the audio backup file from the internal mics collapsed to mono when the DJI mic was directly connected. Having it default to mono meant you didn't have the stereo choice - when editing you can mix stereo to mono but not the reverse, of course. Now they have fixed it. This means that if you want to record in a place where the ambient sound is of interest - in the woods, by the sea, even by a city road with traffic whizzing past, but you want to record clear dialog at the same time, you can mix the stereo ambience from the backup file - which is in wave format - with the speech from the Mic 2, which is recorded into the AAC stream of the video file. This enables great creative opportunities and I'm very glad they have now made it possible. A mono beach just... isn't a beach.

The update I want is to turn off that huge popup message that comes on every time I power on the Pocket 3 when the Mic 2 is connected. I turn the Pocket off between each shot and filling the entire screen with a huge message that the mic is connected is unnecessary. I already know it's connected because the mic vibrates and I can see the green volume bar at the top of the screen.

I'd still love a set of parameters to control the follow sensitivity for auto-selfie tracking. It's been very helpful when I don't have a second shooter helping me, but being able to lower the tracking speed to "ease" the motion would be great for talking head filming.

Here is a feature I want and it is a pet peeve of my DJI never did it with any of their Osmo pockets. They're drones all have gimbal's just like that one and they all ease in and ease out. Meaning you should be able to use the joystick, to pan left, right, up and down and when you let, up instead of it stopping dead or starting like Tesla from 0 to 60, let it ease in and let it ease out. Just my two cents thanks for the great content!

Great video for a great device. What this thing really needs is a 'wide angle' lens that you can put on, that still allows the gimbal to lock in place when powered off.

That mist filter might be too strong. Looks like there is a fingerprint or smudge on the lens. Those NDs are sweet though.

I love how you can now move the joystick and the camera will follow in the same direction (in selfie mode). Unfortunately, this feature turns off if you enable selfie tracking (which kind of defeats the purpose). Hope they enable it for tracking in the next update. 😀

Great video, thank you. I am not sure if it is a needed fix or just user error, was using my Pocket 3 now with 2 Mic 2s. Both worked great for most of the recording, but late in the session the background noise increase dramatically. I turned on noise cancelling on both mics and could never get both mics to sync back up. If one mic was grabbed, when we tried to sync up number two it would shut down the first one. Very frustrating.

I’d really like them to add some kind of easing with the joystick gimbal control. It starts and stops really abruptly. Or if the hardware doesn’t allow, it’d be great to be able to use the screen to control the gimbal like you can do on their drones. Fingers crossed!

Great update, the cancel record is one of my favourite features of the the ace pro so this is a good addition. 🎉

My only complaint so far is when i have a pair of mics connected, and the receiver on the bottom of the battery extender handle, and that battery dies, i then loose my mics. This is a huge pain. I guess i could upgrade to the mic 2, i already have one of them. But i would think this would have been thought of already and taken care of. I assume there is not a passive pass through circuit in the handle battery leaving it a hardware limitation, rather than a software issue that could be resolved.

I wish that the gimbal would return to center after panning. I get that “end of gimbal range” error way to often. The camera will be pointing off to the side instead of forward and I miss a lot of shots because of it. Double tapping the joystick to return to center is jarring and defeats the purpose of having a gimbal if you have to constantly have this jerky move to bring the camera back to center. The Pocket 1 and 2 both seem to do this better than the Pocket 3. The drift is unacceptable in my opinion.
