Pathways to Blast Furnace-Based Decarbonization

AIST Decarbonization Subcommittee webinar #7 is the first of a two-part webinar series that discusses the important aspects of decarbonizing blast furnace-based integrated steelmaking. Cost-effective alternatives to coke plants, blast furnaces and basic oxygen furnaces will not be universally available at scale for the next 5 to 20 years. To reduce greenhouse gas emissions until then, steelmakers are reimagining the possibilities of providing valuable liquid hot metal: decarbonized, cost-competitive or better than previous methods from existing facilities. This first webinar will focus on pelletizing, sintering and blast furnace technologies.
