As amazing, refined and sophisticated late Slipknot may be, I will always cherish the 1999 and 2001 era. The impact it had on the teenager I was, simply huge. There was nothing like Slipknot, you should have seen my parents face the day I played Disasterpiece DVD on our family TV 😂

1999 but only because Josh Brainard brought the best thrash and death metal rhythms. Iowa was still a better record but that’s because of everyone else.

2008 is easy choice for me, they had riffs in a lot of styles from nu metal, groove metal to even death metal

I will say 1999 is pure Slipknot, and 2008 is just Slipknot playing Metal.
