Iowa is one of the heaviest albums out there. A lot of bands try to be heavy but the angst and the anger come from an imagined place. Iowa is so intense and crushing due to the mental place the band members were at during the recording. All other albums pale in comparison.

Iowa is my all-time favorite album. I empathized with the anger and aggression when I was younger and now I have a deep appreciation of the "chemically-unbalanced" nature that Corey described. These guys created brutal violent art from pure chaos and drug-fueled madness. It's beautiful. 🤘🏻

You might see, talk, live under the same roof as people steady in your life but it doesn't mean you're all on the same journey, thinking the same shit. I just saw them in Cleveland, and they put on amazing show. I was always a fan of the band, but never saw them live. Definitely will see them again.

I went to Ozzfest 2001 Toronto, Canada and I remember them playing a few new songs, just weeks before Iowa was released. The crowd wasn't sure how to react to them because it was our first time hearing them. But now, man, I wish it wasn't the first time hearing them because those songs were People=Sh*t, Disasterpiece, New Abortion.

Hands down my favorite metal album of all time. I could go listen to the heaviest of the heaviest shit out there, and it still doesn’t touch Iowa. The rawest album ever recorded. Just pure hatred and angst. It’s palpable. Beautifully disgusting. Corey’s screams come from a different place than any other metal vocalist. The beauty is, his voice has returned to that place.
