Welcome to another RV life-focused video. What has been your experience this season regarding campground booking? Have a tip to share? Let us, and your fellow RVers, know in the comments below. Our personal experience has been slightly more difficult than in past years, definitely more people are camping, but we think that's a wonderful thing, and with a little flexibility we've been able to continue traveling and enjoy some amazing places all across the U.S. There is availability! As always, we look forward to chatting with you and ask that you keep comments kind and on topic. Thanks! Jason and Abby

We converted a small cargo camper. It's small - but it's just 2 of us and we are normally outside! The plus side is we never have an issue finding a campsite. We normally camp in State Parks.

Great information! My name is Bryan Garnett. I am a retired High School Teacher from NJ. I have a Rockwood Mini Lite 2104s on order. I loved your video on what to consider when buying an RV. I have researched my RV. I even found videos of Rockwood Factory tours, so I saw how my RV in being built from the ground up.

We were sure Father's Day weekend would have filled all our local F.S. Montana campgrounds. I went up early and was shocked to find all kinds of open spaces. Found out the water system didn't pass the coliform test so the grounds were taken off the recommend list. It doesn't look like they are going to repair it any time soon since there isn't even a camp host now. So we have a nice F.S. camground all to ourselves for the season. My tip would be to ask the ranger station if they have any C.G. that don't offer water, which makes them unpopular. Happy camping.

flexible is a must, we do book ahead but last year I found spots while on the road. We use the apps and search, if one night or two full hook up is not most important

For sure it's possible! I had none, nada, zero, zilch reservations and I've now spent the past month within just a few miles of the entrance to Grand Teton and Yellowstone NPs. Simply awesome and the best experience so far of being full time on the road for 4+ years.
Flexibility is king and trumps all.

I recently booked a primitive cabin at a state park in Maryland because all the campsites were booked. Upon arrival, there were dozens of sites available. What? We switched it saved us money and we camped the way we wanted.

If we were frequent visitors in mostly public campgrounds we might not be able to able to compete for spots anymore unless we subscribed to at a couple of those suggested sites- including one or more of the ones notifying you of openings. The days of doing your own trip planning seem almost gone. The health crisis has put an exclamation point on it.

Gros Ventre campground at Grand Teton NP use to be first come first serve but now reservations only. I missed the first-come-first-serve because you could get a spot and stay for two weeks. We were able to stay a week but had to change spots several times as one campsite would become available. But the downfall there is it takes up a chunk of your day.

Sorry to get off-topic but have you guys talked about the insurance for campgrounds? It's an article in RV Travel this morning.

I dunno, the hype is pretty accurate - today is Friday - I looked online for camping opportunities in Colorado State parks for 2 nights - Friday/Saturday. Across the whole state I found 2 tent sites and 2 RV sites

Cool my home area was in the search. My Great-great grandparents opened the original Boiling Springs Resort where St Louis city residents would come there to cool off in summers. It has long ago and many floods later gone but great floating area
