I had a small Ford dealership more than two decades ago, so I respect the brand. I think they have done what Ford is good at which is getting the spec good enough for the rest of us. What I am unsure about is whether they have the price points right today.

I have just put a deposit on one, for Jan delivery. Great test drive in the Select model, very happy with it.

To me, the looks! Seems a bit elegant even though it is an SUV. Seems to have some of the US Explorer vibe. On size: similar to a Volvo XC40 (outer measures). Competitive price (I checked the 77kwh rwd) for the WLTP range: no vehicle goes as far for less. Looks plus range seem the USPs, two big plusses. Very few if any negatives. Conclusion, to me, this EV has a lot of value. Seems more the Mondeo price category - I used to have a Mondeo station, now a small EV. Like this one!

Nice review Derek. Are VW building these for Ford or just suppling components, I do think it looks better than the ID4 but they should have changed the haptic buttons and window controls. Select, RWD 77kWh Extended range €43, 591 and Premium, RWD, Extended Range €48, 006 both with 19 week delivery time.

I like the look over vw offerings. However the front\rear windows and haptic buttons put me off.

Nice video Derek. Could I ask you to put chapters on your videos, It would be helpful for prospective buyers. Also it would be great if you could start the video with the stats. Price, battery size, range and then go into the first impressions bit. Regards

Sat in the one at the Everything Electric show London and was quite impressed. A nice looking thing. It is a shame about the touchable VW bits and shiny black plastic but I think the overall design is good. So long as it is priced properly it will sell well but will wait to see.

Thanks for the review Derek. This has been on my watch list for a while. The fact it's smaller than an id4 is a slight issue for me with 2 kids. Do you know if the thigh extenders are standard or a possible extra? I'm 6'4 and I always appreciate the extra leg support on longer journeys. Cheers

Thanks for the review I’m always interested in internal height at rear and failing that perhaps the overall height would have been useful
