Uncle T. here.
Seen this latest video of yours and I've also just had a viewer of my blog tell me about your problem with the don’t charge until setting in your R-link, we have been having problems with the Charge Scheduler and our don’t charge until setting (Charge timer) since September last year on our new Zoe ZE40 R90.
Here is the answer as I see it and info that Renault told me.First, they are aware of the charge scheduler problem and are still working on it. (Basically it worked for us to start with then it stopped working) Second when we first got our original Zoe we had to have a special fuse in our consumer unit as our charger is a charge master /polar and the Zoe is supper sensitive to earthing  problems i.e if the earth resistance is high on the charger the Zoe trips out the charger.  This may or may not be part of your problem don’t think it is your problem as your charging but worth a mention for others.  The earthing resistance is one big issue with the Zoe
Second . The Charge timer will reset (once it's past the time it was set at) and is a use once option this is normal.  However the charge Scheduler will stay set until you take it off in the R-link, don’t forget this on public charging as it won’t charge if the Scheduler is not set back to charge all the time option.
From what I've seen on your video your charge timer didn’t work properly when it should have (Renault timer R-link problem) your cp negotiated with the car but then after that the timer didn't let it charge (limbo land) once the timer passed the point it should have cut in .Once you open the door of the car it wakes up reverts back to charge all the time and bam your charging.Renault advice to me was as follows...
If using the Charge Scheduler take it off every time you’ve done with it and it will work next time you put it back on.My advice on your timer problem which I thing is also part of the R-link charge gate LOL.Don't use the charge timer it's unreliable till Renault get their finger out.
If you do use the charge timer your in the lap of the gods ours stopped working way back as can be gathered by my blog. Many Thanks for your video’s My blog is Renault Zoe by Uncle T

I’ve been setting mine to charge at 1am in exactly the same way you did for the last 2 years and never failed. I’d say it’s something to do with the charger.

Hi Ian - The wall charger is an EVO unit I believe and I have seen a report or read somewhere that said these will not work with the charge timing system. I will find it and post in a link! Rob

Not got one so only an idea. Have you checked the time zone the car is set to, if auto change it to London. I had similar problem with my leaf, data to Connect EV was not uploading correctly as time zone was set to auto.

Timed charging need the TCU to be connected to the Renault servers Ian. Check that you are connected. Its in the system menu somewhere, you'll see a screen showing signal strength and whether you are connected or disconnected. Provided you have Data Sharing Authorised, it is the case that occasionally the TCU loses connection and won't reconnect. In this case you need to pull Fuse 31 (10A, two across from left second row up) for a couple of minutes to reset the TCU. I've needed to do this reboot on our new R90 in the last couple of days. It just stopped reporting to the ZE Services and I couldn't get it to reconnect, even with R-Link reset. It's back on now. But your timed charges rely on the ZE Services server sending a command to your car to tell it to start charging. Your symptoms suggest you are disconnected. Let us know!

Have you checked the R-Link is connected to it's network? Sometimes the phone chip inside disconnects and it's a bind trying to connect it again.

I've heard reports that the time is GMT, so in theory, the timer would operate at 08:15. If that information is correct, seems strange to me.

Could it be that you need to set the calendar as well. There may be a need to tell it to start at 0715 'everyday'

I have had two Zoe's and they both suffer the same fault. The timer is only in GMT and doesn't correspond to the cars clock, so it's fine in the winter months but you have to add a hour in the summer. It has always worked though but I am in a good mobile network area as it realise or R link not an in built timer like the Leaf.

I think it is the calendar setting. You need to schedule the time AND days, you want it to charge. Just like the Leaf.

Try the timer on the e-nv200 if you have a cable

Hi Ian I have a update it seem the calender charge schedule is just as rubbish.. My car now all ways trys to do a full charge when plugging in. You have to edit a calender to fix or switch off calender and then put back on calender mode.

I think you need to set the timer and plug in at the same time. Set timer, then plug in, then lock. That used to work when we had ours, I never tried setting it then plugging in at a later time, I.e. the next day even though it appears that you can from the menu. Might work, who knows yours is a later the car than we had.

Could be when you set it at 7:15 it may have thought it was the day you set it. Just may sure you don't have to also go into the Calendar menu. Owning a couple of It's a French thing

My vote is that it’s the charge unit... Can you try on another charger at a friends?

Try Debugging 1. Have another Zoe Plug into your charger. Set the timer to start in 20 minutes to see if the charger is the issue.2. Bring your Zoe to the other charger unit, where the Zoe from number 1 plugs in normally,  set the timer for 20 minutes ahead and wait then,  plug into that one. If you experience the same anomaly the car is the problem. If the Charger is the issue number 1 will be apparent immediatelyIf  Number 2 is the issue the Car is the culprit and needs to have the charging system looked at while you have warranty. In any case try both scenario's of 1 & 2, just in case both problems are active at the same time.I own an EV now. I am in North America - Canada. Different standards of electricity but sometime similar issues occur.

I told you the charging system on the Zoe was complete garbage before you bought it. However that isn't constructive so here's my suggestions.

1) eliminate it being your charger by repeating what you did using your 3 pin plug evse.

2) is there any online service you can try to program it with instead? App etc?

Try your other 3kW charger. I suspect it's the charger.

Frustrating for you Ian. The only thing you're doing differently to my routine is that you are opening and closing the driver's door to see what's happening - no idea whether that plays a role. My routine is : set the programme > lock the car > plug in. This has worked perfectly for me, every time, over more than two years. Because I do my scheduled charges overnight I've never had to open the car during that time. I've never used the calendar. Clearly you need to try the same routine on a different charger, I suspect the problem lies in that direction. Keep us posted.

In the mean time I have my Zoe set to start charging at midnight.. And I suspect it'll work just fine.. :)
