Hey all,

Well it was time to get in and do some thorough Inspections on the Hives now that the Formic Pro treatment has been removed. Overall, the Hives in this Video are doing great. I couldn't be happier with where they are as far as stores for the winter and brood.

Watch the video and let me know what you think.

If you want them to draw a frame or two.. It's in the top brood box, betwine brood frame and pollen frame. It's probably too cold in other places. How many days of flow do they still have.. it could be better to take supers now, restrict a little. They really have nice brood frames

The bees look good Brian. If I had any concerns it is the lack of honey. I'm in MN and I worry about winter stores and giving the bees enough time to cure it and cap it to minimize moisture in the hive this winter. We are getting nights in the low 40's already. Several of my hives have the top brood box (10 frames) capped wall to wall and others have one or two frames with some brood in the top box. I had a hard time getting bees to draw frames in early August. Get those drawn frames in there and give them some time to fill them with winter stores, October is just a few days away. Just my opinion which isn't worth much but I've never lost a hive over winter yet. Knock on wood. LOL

Hey Castle Hives, I did not know you were in the NE as well. Where so? I'm in NYC!!!! My hive is still booming, like they are still filling up supers. i can't believe
Nice looking hive. Hey, thought of another name for your apiary, --besides Dragon Fire, now there is Witches Brew and Queen Elizabeth. It's so interesting how you started with an Apiary name that can be built on. Love it.

It's always great to see natural drawn comb. I never use plastic. Not that there is anything wrong with do so, but I'm not a fan or forcing the bees do to what we want them to do. Your hives are rockin!!!! Don't see a lot of honey stores. Did I miss them? Are they set for winter? Thanks for a great video.

Enjoyed the video Bryan. The hive looks fantastic. How do you know the treatment was effective on the verroa population short of taking a sample and testing with alcohol or sugar. The colony looks incredible. Nice work!!!! - Rick

Another great video Bryan. Question: by doing a visual inspection you can see the formic pro managed the mite issue? Vs doing a sample?
