ROUND-BREAKING AI BRINGS HISTORY TO LIFE – NEW EXHIBITION UNVEILS THE UNTOLD STORY OF A GILDED AGE AMERICAN HEIRESS.

A new exhibition offers a glimpse into the captivating world of Alberta Sturges Montagu, the 9th Countess of Sandwich, and an American Heiress from the renowned era known as The Gilded Age.

Curated by Mapperton’s very own American Viscountess, Julie Montagu, the "American Heiress" collection is comprised of more than 10,000 previously unseen letters exchanged between Alberta (Sturges) Montagu and her family, as well as the peerage at large.

Dating from 1888 to 1951, these letters constitute the largest unpublished private collection of correspondence from the period. They offer a remarkable glimpse into the life of a "dollar bride" during the Gilded Age, shedding light on both triumphs and struggles.
The exhibition takes innovation to the next level by introducing Alberta AI, a ground-breaking creation that brings her story to life like never before.

“With the aid of cutting-edge AI technology, we've resurrected Alberta's voice, allowing her to answer visitors’ burning questions about her remarkable journey,” says Julie Montagu, Viscountess Hinchingbrooke.

How wonderful that Pentillie is helping the veterans. I am a veteran myself and although I did not serve during time of war, I have friends that did and a son, so I am very grateful that places like Pentillie exist and they are of help. Thank you!

There were so many great moments in this video! The war memorial in the wall - I love how they kept it as part of a tribute to veterans, as well as the Kitchen Garden being used by veterans to help heal. The help you gave with the leaf blower was entertaining! The mausoleum, and the Red Book were unforgettable too; as well as the early morning swim! You are definitely braver than me, even with your fear of cows. :) The family were so welcoming and fantastic while sharing the history of the Castle, as well as their ancestors. Wonderful! ❤❤😊

I appreciate how you have long scenes that focus on one subject. You are not afraid to jump in and help in projects to show us how things are done. I like how you show views of the grounds from above.

My great grandfather's family hailed from Devon & I was fortunate to visit it in 1987 thanks to my Great Aunt needing a companion to come over with her, she was 87 at the time having been born in May 1900. My sister came as well & drove the car for us & we spent a few wonderful days seeing the countryside & staying in a 15th century farmhouse on one of our stays & in a 17th century cottage with the straw roofing. A wonderful time with lots of great memories & stacks of photos & postcards to scrapbook - well over 400 & so two HUGE albums to store it all in.

This might be my favorite castle visit in the channel so far. Maybe because I watched the Rescue episode filmed years ago. So great to see that family thrive!

That"s how we used to make our beds in the army, yes I was in the WRACS a long time ago. Now I use the technque for my beds, makes for nice, neat corners.
