In my opinion german tank are very beautiful and well armoured, the major problem thought was the transmissions and majorly underpowered engines otherwise the armament the 88mm and the armour was well done

That thing is both terrifying for enemies, and the crew inside of it

I appreciate how much James Holland reminds everyone, a tank like this only works if you're advancing but if you're retreating, you have to leave all the broken ones behind

Probably the most beautiful tank in WW2

They would have been perfect if they had the resources and time to perfect the drive train. In principle it would have been devastating if properly employed. Even so they performed well when they had a chance to perform, being they often had no air support and minimum mechanized support.

Were allied tank crews informed of the reliability of the german tanks? A lot of arguments online dismiss the german tanks as too unreliable to be good, but if you were driving a Sherman & you hear the TC call out “Tiger 3 o’clock, ” you probably weren’t thinking you were okay because its transmission is due to break soon.

Us and British tankers would have been terrified to fight against such a tank

The working breach of a Tiger II had 42 working parts. The Sherman had 11 working parts in their breach mechanism. So who do you think had more problems in The field?

I think they knew that since the thing was so heavily armored not even its own gun could kill it frontally. So the engine busted, no ones going to care when the turret is perfectly fine and traverses just fine manually. The PAK 43 it used as a gun? LEGENDARY. A broke down tiger 2 was just a PAK 43 AT gun with a foot thick armored gun shield.

In those days, back then... He was great. It's now being compared to good or not good according to the contemporary understanding of technology. Ww2 engineers did an impressive job

Father-in-law was in World War II and he was a pilot and she had one job and his job is to find Tiger tanks and he used to get excited when he heard that there were a few tiger tanks and they would get up and airplane. They had a group of three planes and that’s all they did. They wouldn’t shoot anybody they just went out looking for Tiger tanks.
