Political Ideas Conservatism Key thinkers

In this video I examine the Key Thinkers for Conservatism for A Level Politics. These are Thomas Hobbes, Edmund Burke , Michael Oakeshott , Ayn Rand and Robert Nozick. I look at their views on human nature, society, economics and the state. They represent different strands of Conservative thought- Traditional, One Nation and New Right. Knowing these Key thinkers is highly important for the Political Ideas section of Component 1 in A Level Politics

I find much of truly Conservative philosophy to be fundamentally rooted in a cynical and realistic view of human nature with its different forms being different conceptual takes on how to properly address the fundamentally self-motivated nature of human beings.
