Are Sneakers Dying Out In 2024?

I’ve heard so many people saying the sneaker scene is stale or even that sneakers are dying out recently! Sneakers channels have been saying their views are at an all-time low and everyone seems a little unsure where sneakers are headed at the moment, so I wanted to talk about it.

I also asked you guys in a previous video to let me know what you think will happen with sneakers this year and I’m going to share the results of which sneakers you thought would dominate 2024!

Will it be the Adidas Samba, or will something else take its place this year?

If sneakers dying means no more "cheap shoes" costing thousands of dollars just for the "hype" I’m totally fine with it

My dad of age 62 wears 2 Chuck Taylors and love them so much. It's such a timeless shoe

Sneakers are dying? Good. It's the perfect time for me to get into sneakers because they will be cheaper than their current prices.

Saying sneakers will die out is like saying t-shirts will die out, and frankly what a ridiculous idea for those who believe it!

Interesting thoughts on this one Harry. In the end, never rely on trends but go for something what is never going out of style. Sneaker are not everything but are and will continue to be a part of a regular wardrobe. Let’s see what the summer is going to bring, happy Sunday and as usual, cheers 😊🙏🏻

Absolutely love the converse chuck 70s, the black colorway is definitely my favorite aswell! It just works with both elevated and grungier looks.
Moreover, recently i've been really into the Oliver Cabell sneakers aswell, been meaning to ask you what you think of those.
Love your fashion inputs and videos, cheers.

Black suede pumas is a staple in 80s and 90s hip hop fashion, what I am inspired by, so I might buy one for a simpler look in contrast to my asics gel lyte 3

Well... sneaker market is dying for resellers. Economy isn't doing well, high retail prices coupled with recession DOES NOT mix well together.

Been wearing Vans authentics/era for 15+ years. Most versatile shoe in my opinion.

As a kid who’s been collecting trainers since the 90s the last few years been the worst ever. Cant get anything anymore even basic go tos because every month something else blowing up. If the sneaker scene dying then hopefully we can go back to actually being able to buy sneakers we like.

Good video. I wear vans and converse only, but my eyes have been on those trail running type sneakers like Hooka, Solomon, etc.
They are more rugged looking and purposeful than a fashion sneaker.

As a hardcore sneaker head who has worn/collected sneakers since 2004 when I got my first job...

People aren't over sneakers, but rather hypebeast sneaker culture.

When say a Travis Scott Jordan comes out, there's a low chance of getting them for retail unless you're a fashion/sneaker influencer.

I'm at an age where I don't care nor have the time to go enter raffles, wait in line overnight, or whatever else it takes to get a sneaker.

One point, if I wanted something bad enough, if pay resell.

But now I'd rather just invest that money in ETF's or for my retirement, which I should've been doing all along.

I am always wearing the same sneakers and the advantage is that, at some point in time, it becomes again trendy (like a broken watch which gives you the correct hour two times per day 😂)

One of the biggest men's sneaker trends in Tokyo since mid-2023 has been all black. The Margaret Howell x Muzuno collab is my fav example. Can recommend! I wonder if it will spread outside Japan.

Old skool vans and chuck 70’s were all I wore throughout school and now that I’m 25 and haven’t wore them in about 10 years I might pick up another pair of chucks

Average shoe retail prices have doubled over the years. I remember when Nike Air Force 1s cost $98. Now they are averaging $130 after taxes. People just don’t have the money to spend one luxury item.

I worked for a major department store from AW22 - AW23 and I think this is pretty bang on. We were pushing for the CDG Converse to sell more units, and people were definitely buying them up like mad. I also noticed Hoka and On having a chokehold on my local market, but I live in a state that's known for "adventure sports" such as rock climbing and off-trail hiking. I think "the" shoes that will refuse to die out are definitely the AF1s and panda dunks, though. Everywhere I look, stores can barely keep panda dunks on their shelves, and there are so many colorways and collabs for the AF1s, that I still see people eating them up like crazy (at least locally). Vans are a spot-on prediction as well, I don't think those will ever truly die out amongst fashion-forward folks.

I was just about to mention Puma lol.. I agree Puma is so underrated rn i especially love the Palermo and Velophasis models from them, they could be great alternatives to Sambas and Asics gel shoes
