Got a huge knot in your #trap? You could have a spinal accessory nerve entrapment by ADHESION!

Got a huge knot in your trap that never goes away?

An extremely common nerve entrapment is the spinal accessory nerve where Dr Joe drew the line.

Adhesion entraps nerve by behaving like glue, preventing a nerve from flossing.

Stretch a nerve more than 15% and it loses blood flow.

And adhesions around nerves will not be released with:

❌ flossing
❌ stretching
❌ massages
❌ adjustments

That makes nerve entrapments a very evil thing.

@barefootrehab - where we see 200ish patients a week, we probably treat this nerve 2-3 times a week.

Getting the adhesion removed around it can often cause elevated shoulders to drop and people say “My shoulder finally feels like it let go!”

Dr Joe uses @adhesionreleasemethods to sink into the nerve, find which way it doesn’t bow, apply a tension force alongside it (encouraging it in the way it doesn’t want to go), as the assistant moves the patient’s head to prevent any superfluous activation of muscles.

I had right shoulder pain for months, from improperly reaching too far with my computer mouse. It was excruciating, and as a side sleeper I couldn’t sleep on it as well. At 62 years old, I never went to a RMT before, and I couldn’t believe the relief I finally got after 2 sessions, and I haven’t been back. It truly was a medical marvel.

This was very helpful! My entire trapezius from top to bottom has been inflamed. I watched what you did several times and used some leverage with a long wooden rod wedged under a counter top, put it on the main area that gets hard as a rock, and use it to try to loosen us any adhesions. I felt instant relief. Hope tomorrow is even better!

My arm tingles all the way down to my fingers bc of this issue. It is so painful and I’m constantly checking my posture and doing stretches. I work at a computer all day.

I would LOOOVE this! Many people can't stand aggressive type massages, however, I'm all in. I have Scoliosis (you would only be able to see it by X-Ray) but I do suffer from a hoard of issues on account of it. This looks incredibly relieving/relaxing!

Is there anyway I can relieve this pain myself?? My trap/neck/shoulder area is constantly a hard knot and I can’t afford to get a massage as much as I need

I once had a professor who faced the black board, wrote with his right hand and erased what he had written with his left hand .... at the same time. Your video reminded me of him.

I have found trap bar deadlifts have surprisingly helped with this holding at the top and relaxing traps.

Accidentally broke a 35yr old trap knot. Took 6 months for everything to settle back down and get mobility back.
