Purdy outplayed Mahomes- who threw a pick that gave the other team a short field and a quick touchdown? If Purdy did that he would be roasted for it, but Mahomes is being given a pass by most commentators. Mahomes had better protection by far, the game was won in the trenches, not at the qb position. The 49ers need to put everything into a better offensive line, even if they need to lose a couple of weapons to do so- such an excess of weapons doesn't help if the qb has no time to throw.

You keep fighting back. Steve lost back to back title games to the Dallas Cowboys before in 92-93 winning it all on the third try in 94 over the Chargers! Joe Montana won it all in his third year against the Bengals, and next year will be Brock’s third year and he will be stronger as well as the 49ers. A new right tackle and right guard on the OL, perhaps resigning Chase on the DL. The running game didn’t fail the 49ers, key injuries, a missed block in OT and a fatigued DL is what hurt the Niners ultimately!

Philly had to break Purdy's arm in order to keep a rookie out of the SB.

Purdy reminds me of Fran Tarkenton. Smart, nifty, clever & good thrower of the football. Fran went to 3 SB's with really good teams but couldn't get it done. I suspect the same for Brock if ever gets there again.

Like another qb, he reminds me of brody for how quickly he gives up when pressured, throwing the ball in the dirt or out of bounds. He's no Steve Bono sadly.
