The Nano X1s are a completely new build with some big changes that I am very excited about and I haven’t been excited about Nano’s in a while.
This new Nano has a completely re-designed toe box that feels much narrower but in reality only took 1mm of width off in the actual space for your foot from the Nano X. There is still plenty of room for your foot and the other fit it on the loose size.
The upper is very light and super flexible. I wore these all day on a job and because of the nature of my work, carrying around cameras all day, I don’t have many shoes that feel good all day long and these felt amazing.
The back has some reinforcement to keep the shoe stable for lifts but I felt the cushioning when squatting.
Even though the shoe overall is a little narrower, they’ve widened sole especially through the middle and on the back to give it more support.
There’s also a new heel clip that’s visible on the outside starting at the mid foot and wrapping around the heel to lock your heel and add lateral stability for squatting, lifting or shifting your weight in a shoe like during shuttle sprints.
The shoes have a lot thicker sole than past nanos and are a bit higher than most trainers in general really. There’s a more aggressive heel to toe drop than before as well. What that means is the difference between the height of the front of the shoes and the back of the shoe is more.
Reebok says they are the best Nano for running to date and since I have hated running in every pair of Nano’s that I’ve owned I’m very excited to try these and see.
I think these are a great training shoes that are a little biased toward the body weight and faster, lighter movements.
They’re lighter, they feel faster, they’re soft and comfortable but they still have great stability, They feel great in workouts and will feel great all day long.
