people need to realize you're only getting the quality of sound from whatever your listening to this video with....( headphones, laptop speakers...) this is something you need to hear in person.

The fact that you can tell the difference on a Youtube recording with 35$ headphone is impressive just by itself.

It would make sense that the rear speakers sound better or have a better "acoustic quality" as the camerman with the phone is recording from the backseat.

There is no external amp yet. The speakers are being powered by the Alpine CDA-9887 receiver in the dash--Crutchfield

If people actually think the rear crappy factory speakers sound better they need their ears revoked. Another thing to remember is there's a huge difference between listening actually in the car versus on a video with the crappy camera mic which does no justice to the tonal accuracy of the front speakers. All you hear is the muddy inaccurate bass the rear factory full range provide. Trust me, in years of doing installs and setups for myself and others aftermarket blows factory out of the water 100% of the time.

It would be a better test if you only replaced the right side with new as the front & rear speakers sound different even with the factory. Just saying this is not best test.

Aftermarket speakers sound more clear, but have a lack of bass. It's only a good idea if you add a sub too.

@7SevenProductions0 While you did catch an error, it wasn't with the model number, it was that he referred to the camera as an "SLR" which it was not. The Canon model was the "SX1IS" which does shoot full motion video, but is a "point & shoot" and not an "SLR". HTH!--Crutchfield

The factory speakers have much better mid bass. Paper cone speakers handle mid bass much better than most other kinds of speakers. Also that is why paper cone speakers are still used for professional systems (they are also more sensitive). However, you can tell they are cheap junky speakers. Overall your aftermarket speakers sounded much better.

The fronts sounded accurate and like they were "singing". As soon as he faded back to the rear it sounded like it was squeezed and muffled. Reminded me of a clock radio sound. Aftermarket is the way to go!!

I would recommend Infinty or Boston acoustic speakers they have clear sound and lots of bass . I have a 2011 dodge caliber with 4 boston's 6x9's and a infinty 300watt amp and soon to add a infinty basslink

Not all Bose factory systems are the same. The Bose systems will generally offer more speakers and more power through external factory amplifiers than the basic factory sound packages. In your Acura, you can replace the factory stereo and retain the full range Bose amplifier and speakers; but if you have the Bose factory subwoofer (in the center of the rear deck), it, and the amplifier that powers it, will no longer function. The XSi camera is a DSLR camera. But you are correct that the SX120 IS camera is not an SLR--Crutchfield

We did not research any 1999 Honda Accords with a factory Bose system or subwoofer option. If, by chance, you meant a ’09 Honda Accord, we do offer a harness that will retain the factory amplifier and all of the stock speakers with an aftermarket stereo. check the polarity of your speakers. it sounds like the positive wire is wired into a negative terminal on one or more of your speakers. this causes the frequency of the bass to cancel out mid air.

@palmer307 I’m not sure I understand your question. Dynamat has an adhesive backing that is used to apply it to the surface of any location. While it can help reduce external noise is almost any location, the resonance dampening capability is best utilized on metal surfaces. I heard A CLEAR difference. Once you switched to the front, I could hear everything cleaner and more precise. ANd I actually heard a little bit of bass to once switched to the front.

If you like the mid and high range performance of the stock speakers, then all you need to fix is the bass. I have built many a systems like this. If that's all it takes to get your system to sound good for you, then that’s all you need to do. If you are asking about amplifying the stock speakers, then I recommend against it. Stock speakers usually do not last long with aftermarket amps. Feel free to call for personalizes recommendation: 800.315.0030--Crutchfield

14 years later and I still agree! Even on a factory radio, you can hear a big difference when you upgrade your speakers.
