Rotary iron melting furnace

I came across this while it was being tested without iron at the ICCCIA 2018 in Scranton, PA

Never seen such furnace very interesting 👍👍👍 what Kind of refractory Material is used? would like to See the tap off process

Very intersting design would never thought about that. I guess there is no crucible in furnace, basically put a lot of iron in and melt it. And then metal is melted just rotate whole furnace and all metal runs into crucible, and rotation is for easier and faster melting ?

There is a question, how possible is it possible to make a working reverberatory furnace without a crucible with a load of several pounds?
