I got home from work, feeling crappy, first day of my period, slightly sick, and physically cold from my office. All great reasons to climb into bed.
Instead I flicked on your video, and found the motivation to: clear the rest of a cupboard I’ve been working on, vacuum 1/3 of the house, clear the dishwasher and put away hand washed ones too, prep vegetables for for dinner, and clean out the cleaning cloths, tea towels and hand towels (of which we have 3x as much as we need). Each job only took 2-5 mins and in the end, the momentum was going so good, I had to force myself to sit down and have a rest!
This morning I woke up with your voice in my head “DO IT ANYWAY”, and got up and did yoga and all sorts of other chores instead of being lazy.
Thank you Laura!

I did it. I created the account I needed to download the tickets for a grad ceremony that were in a message from my sister that I hadnt opened yet.
So I opened the message, clicked on the link, created the account, confirmed my tickets (and my willingness to let them search my clear bag. For a graduation ceremony.... But I digress) then returned my sisters message with a thumbs up emoji. Took all of a minute and a half... Put it off for days now.

The ceremony is today. In 3 hours. I..

I got a shelving unit from Lowes, like months ago, in December 2020. It sat in its box for a couple of months because I was afraid my idea with its purpose wouldn’t work. I started to put it together w/out tools, but needed a rubber mallet. So it stood halfway done as I went to dollar tree for the mallet. Got the tool, finished it, and made sure the shelves were level. Now the shelving unit stands with everything from my previous full size bed’s bookcase headboard. A bit later, I got a kitchen cart with a drawer from Target. I use it as a bedside table. At present time, I got a laundry station with a hang bar also from Target. Tomorrow, I hope to put it together. It says tools are included, but I will have my tools’ kit bag by my side just in case I need a “hammer” for those stubborn moments. I’m doing it all without any help. So Procrastination is running behind, Motivation is speeding up, and Decluttering rules the

These are good tips, I struggle with executive dysfunction due to anxiety and depression, so getting started on a task is often the hardest thing 😢.

I try to tell myself, "look if you do this thing you're going to feel better because it's done, and if you don't you're going to feel more stressed and guilty. You need the dopamine from completing this task! Go get it!"

I was sick yesterday. I told myself I was going to do 3 things just now: drink my water, fold and bag my store return, and finish loading the mostly full dishwasher. I did those things, refilled my water bottle, made couscous, scooped the cat box, took out the trash from 2 trash cans and put bags back in them, refilled the rabbit’s water bottle, changed the dog and cat water, emptied one bag from camping, put away a few items I passed by, etc. I then climbed back in bed with no guilt as I went way past my goal. Thank you so, so much!

Your idea of teeny tiny steps is really good for those of us battling depression and anxiety. Your words are really encouraging and helpful. Thank you!

I paused this video about 3 times and worked on my class planning for graduating college in a timely manner. Your videos get me moving- which is a big deal after a year of depression and loss which had turned me into an unmotivated slug. Now this slug is moving. ;) Love your attitude and channel. You rock! :)

I like your tip about doing things early - while you're still a bit groggy, even. Do it before my mind is alert enough to talk me out of it!

I did it, thank you!
I took two broken items out to the trash. They broke months ago, but the sense of waste was so strong, I kept procrastinating. I did attempt to fix both of them, but it couldn't be done.

Yess! I'm going to do it now! And "it" for me today is to box up the dvds, books, and kitchen items I piled up on the floor during my decluttering session yesterday. They won't be such a dust-collecting eyesore once I get them boxed up since my charity pickup us not coming for another few weeks. Thanks for the motivation!! 😊

Excellent advice. The hardest thing to do is just stand up and move. This video is full of excellent advice -- and excellent insight. Some of my mother's patterns got attacked by cats and goats. She brought them over to me to see if anything could be done. Though it was only a large present bag full of unorganized pattern paper -- I procrastinated for months. Finally, I got to it late Friday. I finished it up last night. It wasn't the nightmare I thought it would be. You don't have to want to do it, you just have to do it!

Lol, you killed me at the end with the phone call challenge! I WILL make that one call I need to make today, then I'm out the door to run the errands I don't want to take time out to do! LOVED this video! Your style is amazing. I've been watching you since your channel was teeny tiny. It's been si fun to watch you grow and reach more people with your great advice. Not just that, but your compassion, understanding, and gentle humor is so helpful, too! 💜

What can one do when your body hurts including ponding headache ?
I won't have to do it tomorrow if, I do it today, I am more limited in time tomorrow.
I am going to get another Coffee with 3 Ibuprofen.

Yeah I've found that the biggest source of procrastination is often lack of clarity in some capacity. So it's like you were mentioning - thinking of any previous steps, breaking things into smaller steps, etc. Great tips!

Thank you for this video,
I spend my working week cleaning for others...and then coming home..urghh no..

Well I had my Pfizer jab on Friday (massive sore arm)

But because my dad and bro had horrible side effects...

I took this week off...

And I started with the boxes I had on the floor that I had in put together in one my videos 'donate' & 'dump'... When I created them we were lockdown...well shops be open a few weeks now & with work finding the hours to get them to the dump or charity shop was hard...

It it was the first thing I tackled yesterday!!!

Then did a deep clean of my bathroom...(filmed for upcoming video)

I plan to get walking today and enjoy Nature!!! And go to a local garden centre and buy plants!

P.s I watch the video last night so when you said right pause and make that phone or something...I gave the kitchen a quick tidy (a couple plates/bowls that needed going into the dishwasher!
