I've watched almost all the reviews on the Heybike Cityrun and ended up purchasing it. I've had it for over a week and I love it. However, here are a few minor things that I noticed that sometimes did not get mentioned in some of the reviews.

1. I'm going to list this first because I consider it the most disappointing thing, but certainly not a deal breaker for me. Everything else I consider somewhat minor. Hopefully, somebody from Heybike will read this and put out a firmware update that will add this feature: Occasionally, you might not want to do any peddling and just ride it like a scooter by only using the throttle. This bike has NO CRUISE CONTROL and your thumb gets very tired if you're cruising for a long time. It seems to me that this could easily be added with a firmware update.
2. The assembly video is not really that good. What made it particularly challenging and somewhat confusing is that my bike did not come with the quick-release front axle as described in the assembly video. It was easy to figure out, nonetheless.
3. There is a button on the right side of the handlebars, just beneath the throttle toggle, that is labeled "Auto." It is either pushed in or it is out. Nothing appears on the display whether the button is in or out, so it's difficult to know, "What is in auto?" The button is not mentioned in the user manual. If the button is pushed in, the lights will automatically sense that it is dark and turn on. If it is not pushed in, the lights can only be turned on manually. This is a fairly silly and unnecessary feature it seems to me. If it's dark, turn on the lights! I'm pretty sure I can figure out if it's dark and I might need to turn the lights on. Geez. I would have preferred that the button engaged cruise control, not something as unimportant as whether the lights automatically turn on or not.
4. I took the advice of one reviewer (on YouTube) and changed my seat post to one that has a shock absorber. It made the ride much smoother. Good advice!
5. Some reviewers and users have expressed disappointment that when they turn the bike off, the display says "off, " which means something must still be powering the bike. That's true. I doubt this really takes much power as your car also uses power while it's off. In any case, if this really bothers you, there is an ON/OFF switch near the charging port where you insert the charger when the battery is installed in the bike. Turn that off and everything is completely powered down. Easy! HOWEVER! I noticed that in some reviews, the charging port didn't have this switch. It must be something Heybike added later.
6. I've noticed the charging level display is not very accurate; or, at least, it inexplicably fluctuates. When I don't peddle and make the motor do all the work, the charging level sometimes drops down a bar or two. Then, when I start peddling again, I get one or two bars back. That really doesn't make sense unless the bike has regenerative capabilities, which it doesn't.
7. The app that connects to the bike via bluetooth has a "track my ride" feature that seems to tap into Google maps. I couldn't figure out how it is supposed to work and could never get it to "track my ride." It shows a map and my current location. Great! Now what? There is a button that says "Go" but, when I select it, it doesn't track anything. Nothing happens. There is no explanation on how to do this.
8. I love how the handlebars sweep back. I hate hunching over the entire time like I am competing in the Tour de France.
9. I'm glad it only has 7 gears instead of 21, like most e-bikes. Who needs that many gears on an electric bike??? Seven is plenty. The less moving parts the better for maintenance purposes.
10. Both tires have highly-reflective sidewalls. It makes the bike quite noticeable when viewed from the side. They look like two giant glowing circles. A great safety feature!
11. This bike has cadence sensing, not torque sensing. This means that the motor assists based on how FAST you're peddling, not how HARD you're peddling. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing. Some say that cadence sensing tends to "take off" on you more the moment you start peddling. I have found that to be true but I also didn't find it to be a problem.

All in all, none of the negative things are deal breakers for me. I love this bike. It's a true beast. If you're a tall or heavy person, you're not going to be disappointed. I noticed that many of the other e-bikes are not comfortable for anybody 6-feet or over. This is one of the reasons I selected this bike.

For context: I'm 66 years old, 6'2" tall and weigh 200lbs.

Cool looking bike. You always do a great comparison video😊 Looks a little like my Blix Aveny which was a bit long to navigate. I changed to a Doheny EZ with 750watts and hydraulic brakes. It can also go 28 mph and has fat tire, and foldable. Love it!! Look it up

I put my bike together myself. I flipped the rack over on the packaging to avoid scratching. That held my wheel up while I attached the frame. With the seat all the down it’s perfect. The seat isn’t comfortable. I had to removed the bottle holder to get on. I am 5’4” 220 pounds.

My bad, misunderstood your description of this bike. I thought this was a upgraded “Cityscape” and not a new model that was upgraded with better features than those available on current “Cityscape” model. Both nice ebikes. I still prefer the Cityscape for it’s lighter wt. and thinner tires that might fit in bike racks on front of our local city buses. Again, good reviews on both bikes !!!

The "off" could be exceptionally low if not none if it is an e-ink type display

I followed the links you provided to purchase a replacement suspension seat post. Even if I got the correct diameter post (30.4mm), how can I be sure that it will connect with the seat - or are they all standard/universal connections i.e. the post will attach to any seat.

Another question: I can not figure out how to engage cruise control or if it even has that ability??? Love watching all your videos...

How is this bike holding up after a year?

Great review. Does the key have only mechanical lock for the battery or does it also allow you to kill the power all together? Thinking about the always on display "OFF" showing. I have ordered mine and it should be here next week. I have a cell phone holder & alarm coming as well. Thinking about what else to get. More videos on this bike would be great. You do an excellent job at it. Thanks again, Dan...

The PSI range is 36-65. What should I set at for summer?

I have the Mars. I would have to paint over the name on the side of this unit.

I just ordered this bike. I have a 31” inseam, 5’4” (there used to be an extra .5). Would the NCX suspension fit this bike? You have another review that had a lot of usable links for me but this add on was the most expensive. I would like for you get credit. Cheers and thanks!

Tall Rider? Is there a chance that your left foot shoe heel can come in contact with the kickstand? I had to return an Aventon Level2 because of that. I have a size 13 shoe.
