I just assumed she was already an actress in this appearance. She is excellent on camera, with her storytelling ability and with her facial expressions. I don't understand why Dave had to ask her to clarify her stories twice because I understood them perfectly the first time. The question about confusing her with Nastassja Kinski was good though. I just did the same thing, thinking Isabella had already been in Cat People by now, but that was a Nastassja film. Isabella's first American film was White Nights, two years after this appearance, followed a year later by the famous Blue Velvet. Ironically, Isabella did appear in a movie called Cat PERSON in 2023!

My favorite 30 Rock scene is when Isabella and Tina Fey have a fight over Jack during which Isabella pulls down the top of Tina's dress.

That episode also starred Paul Reubens, which I am sure is why this Letterman clip was chosen.

Isabella Rossellini was certainly one of the most beautiful women I can think of. Between her and Barbara Eden, I couldn't say which was prettier.
