LCD TV Repair, Odd Colors, Fuzzy Image

Faded colors, blurred motion, solarized image. Had brightness and contrast turned way up to even see anything. Was fixed with new T-Con board 35-D047889 (V400H1, E88441). This is third board. Original and first replacement failed due to shorted capacitor on LCD connection board. I probe voltages on good unit so you can troubleshoot your LED set. This is Westinghouse CW40T8GW but Toshiba and RCA use same parts. Originally had black blank picture screen with good sound. Samsung is similar as well.

Nice video but i would like to add that "no standby light" isn't necessarily the main board. many of the "completely dead" units with no standby ive repaired have been down to Secondary rectifier diodes on the PSU Board.

I have a Vizio M65 -C1 that started to act up, It started with 1/2the screen with lines, I would unplug and replug and it would work normally, until this morning. Now I get the top 1/3 of the screen with a scrambled image, bottom 2/3 black and full sound.
I believe that it might be the T-Con board, however my concers is that when I pres on the GUIDE buton on the cable box, it shows on the full screen perfectly. Seems that if the image is static, it shows, but video does not. Please advise and thanks for your help,

I have a Dynex DX32-LCD200NA14 and I have the same problem, when I turn my set on I get the faded colors, blurred motion, solarized image. I turn my tv off and on a few times and all is find after the set warms up. Could this be the T-Com Board about to go out. Like your video!

the 17v is the sum of 12+5v ... that's a small step down buck inverter

hi you need to check (avdd vcom vgh vgl ...) voltage ! if theres no voltage change the gamma IC
you can find gamma ic on old laptop lcd screen cracked ...

hay great video. I'm trying to learn about this kind of stuff in hopes to fix my tv rather then pay a fortune to get it repaired. would you know what would cause large roundish blue smudges on the screen..very noticeable over white background. I was told by samsung the screen has faded and needs a replacement. they would not give me full details and just said the screen needs replacing and would cost over £300 I would like to see if its a simple fix rather then drain my wallet.

Hello, I like yours videos, have problems whit my westinghouse tv 55' the image freeze every 2 second and come back for 2 second and freeze again, the sound still working good during this problem also when freeze have some vertical lines, I have opened and the T-Con make sound like buzzer or similar when freeze, What do you thing? Thanks a lot.
