A really clever trick, but it was obvious Simon was fine as his body didn’t react to the inferno so I could see he was safe. I found this act quite funny as he looked very smug at the end when the camera rolled back to him. Very clever trick to fool the audience.

The box is tricked out with sealed hidden heat resistant panels so Simons head will fit in the box without coming in contact with any fire. The liquid on the mask was probably water.

I really thought that this was Cowell undergoing his umpteenth face-lift - anything would be an improvement . If he has any more then Ant and Dec will find it hard to persuade the viewers that the man in the seat on the right really is Simon Cowell.
