injuries suck, no doubt, but this man is such a crybaby who got his (undeserved) MVP by complaining and whining, doesn't take responsibility and comes off as a spoiled 7 foot toddler. Looking forward to his signature move "2nd round exit" this season.

I remember vividly how in his MVP season he ducked Giannis and Jokic basically everytime they were supposed to play. He built his amazing stats playing against below 500 teams and terrible teams like the wizards. It's good that he decided to not play back to backs but missing the first game against the Bucks is expected of him.

D.Morey said they will fake injuries and load manage PG13% and Em'o'biid to avoid back-to-backs. And there is nothing to think, salary for played games/minutes, not sign 50M/season and sit on the bench.

Man....i'm not a pro... And i've played pick up basketball with pain and injuries... Just because i could not live without basketball

How players handle injury and how injuries are treated has changed so much in the last 25 or so years. The fact that Embiid is still playing at all with his injury history is a tribute to how far training and exercise science has come.

I think the NBA is mishandling it. They want their players to stick around forever (not that Embiid has had a particularly long career, but star players in this generation tend to have much longer careers) but they also want their players playing every game. Embiid is much, much better than these two examples, but Brad Daugherty and Pervis Ellison tried playing a bunch of games after serious and nagging injuries; their careers were never the same afterward.
