How to fix A required privilege is not held by the client windows 10/8/7-a required privilege is not held by the client.

I get the following error message:

An unexpected error is keeping you from creating the file.If you continue to receive this error,you can use the error code to search for help with this problem.

Error 0x80070522: A required privilege is not held by the client.

This error solution is common for windows 7,windows 8,windows 8.1,windows 10 also and the architectures are both 64bit and 32bit.

This error is occurred while try to accessing the following softwares are java,c++,in cmd,sp1,winrar.

Solution 1:

1.Goto local disk:c and right lick on it.

2.Click "properties"

3.Goto sharing-advanced settings.

4.Tick the following option and select "permissions"

5.Now enable all the options.

Solution 2:

1.Goto run and type regedit

2.Locate HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -SYSTEM -MICROSOFT -WINDOWS -CURRENT VERSION - POLICIES -SYSTEM.

3.Select "Enable LUA" and set value to "0"

4.Once restart your pc the error is solved.

I think you meant "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-SOFTWARE-Microsoft", not System.

Just build pc and wasn't able to save files in Drive D, did this and voila! Thank you so much!!

Thank You so much Theta Box. I can't thank you enough. Done a clean Install of windows Friday just gone and I've been trying to find a fix for this since. I've even had Microsoft contacting me on twitter for the last 2 days trying various methods to fix it and they couldn't. Numerous YouTube videos and Google searches and I've found the fix.
